please apply the following command to change the build stage of
packages not known to cross-build from 1 to 2:
find package/ -name .svn -prune -o -name "*.desc" -print | \
xargs sed -i -e "s,\(\[P\] . .\)?-,\1-?,"

the updated version does work for stage0:
checking for CXX_not_available_in_stage_0 option to produce PIC... -DPIC

checking if CXX_not_available_in_stage_0 static flag works... no
...
checking whether we can use the new demangler in C++... no
