  22. [I] XML scheme for documentation
  23. [T] DocBook is a widely used XML scheme for writing documentation and help.
  24. [T] It has a very rich markup which allows you to use XSL stylesheets to
  25. [T] produce various target formats such as HTML, PostScript, PDF, RTF, and
  26. [T] HTMLHelp. ScrollKeeper was designed with an emphasis on DocBook, since
  27. [T] it has the richest markup of all commonly used documentation formats
  28. [T] which allows ScrollKeeper to extract the most useful information from
  29. [T] the document itself.
  30. [T]
  31. [T] The DocBook DTD and stylesheets are typically distributed in packages
  32. [T] which lack installation scripts. In the past, installation was simple
  33. [T] enough that users could easily just copy the files into place. Now that
  34. [T] modern XML libraries, such as libxml, support XML catalogs, correct
  35. [T] installation of DTD's and stylesheets require proper catalog
  36. [T] registration. The following packages are based on Norman Walsh's
  37. [T] standard packages, but are modified to have installation scripts to
  38. [T] correctly register the files:
