Note:

Without this patch compiling e2fsprogs 1.42 fails in the case the linux
kernel headers provide linux/falloc.h but the libc is not implementing
fallocate() as it is still the case with latest versions of uClibc.

The above build log snippet is from a build using linux 3.0.16 kernel
headers and uClibc 0.9.32.1

Note:

Without this patch the symlink libpci.so -> libpci.so.3 is broken, thus we
create an additional symlink libpci.so.3 -> libpci.3.1.8 for fixing the
"symlink chain" of libpci.so.

The Makefile provided by the archive contains an interesting line:
64              $(shell cd lib; git ls-files | sed 's,^,lib/,') \
that leads to an error in the build logs:
/bin/sh: git: command not found
Aparently this does not break build but investigation is needed.
